Re: Candy Says performance in Haynes documentary

Leamanc, Yes i like the lou reed video. Of course he could be just ordering a take-away :) The live footage. Is this the new unseen footage that had been mentioned on the forum? I thought it was described as video when it was mentioned before, but i do not recall exactly what the footage looked lik...

Candy Says performance in Haynes documentary

In the Todd Haynes documentary, there is footage of the band performing “Candy Says,” with Doug on vocals, and Lou playing guitar. The studio version is on the audio track, but the video looks to be from a live performance. Judging by the clothes and hairstyles, it looks to be 1970/Loaded era footag...

Re: Matrix Tapes on 8LP vinyl set arriving

Since the US release is delayed a bit, I imported a copy from the UK. Due to the pound losing value, I paid right around what the US price is, and got it in 3 days via UPS. I 100% agree with vupilgrim—the sound is incredible and a noticeable improvement over the CDs. Outstanding job on mastering her...

Re: 1969 Live With Lou Reed private remaster

Glad you like it, velvetfan! I agree, FLAC is the only way to go for projects like this, especially when improving fidelity over the official release version is the intent. That said, if anyone doesn't know how to convert FLAC to MP3, or would just like an MP3 or AAC version, I could make those vers...

Re: More scanned articles

A puzzling aside from Yule in that 1975 interview - Daryl Hall and John Oates filled in as guitarists in the 1973 Velveteen band? What? Has anyone heard of this elsewhere? I needed to read that twice, it's a bit confusing, but Doug joined Hall & Oates rather rhat vice versa. Theres a brief note on ...

Re: 1969 Live With Lou Reed private remaster

Leaman. Great idea! Thank-you. I have not listened to this album for quite some time and also I could never face the qty of material in the Matrix box. I thought the conciseness and the sequencing of the original Live 1969 2xLP worked well, so this will be interesting to hear and see how it compare...

Re: 1969 Live With Lou Reed private remaster

Plan on this being bootlegged and for sale on AUDIOPHILE 220g VINYL!! Heh heh, that thought occurrred to me. As long as I get an Executive Producer and Compiler credit, and the attendant royalties, that’s OK with me. Should offset UMe, The Velvet Underground Corporation, and the estate of Lou Reed ...

Re: 1969 Live With Lou Reed private remaster

Those are my favourites too! Looking forward to listening, thanks! (I've grown fond of the tacky cover though haha) Nice to meet a fellow '69 Velvets fan! You'll see on my alternate cover that I've retained half of the front of the tacky cover. I think this was from a late '70s Spanish reissue. It ...

Re: 1969 Live With Lou Reed private remaster

All - you’re welcome and glad you like it! 1969 is my second-favorite Velvets album after the third album. I love all their work of course but what they were up to all throughout 1969 (the year) is special to me. I do think the cover is awful though, so my choice of alternate cover is somewhat of a ...
