The conversation with Cale does make it clear that the recordings were made over two nights - the 3rd file being from the first, and then the 4th being recorded before the show on the second night.
So do we think that the 1st file is the show on the second night?

Re: Sound excerpts from interview with John Cale, 1966 September

Many thanks for sharing this, very cool.

It's also now clear that this, and not the gig in Morgantown, is the source for the tracks Ms Rayon has been sharing (which to be fair is what sm7609 said at the time).

Re: Little Sister live

I couldn’t find the Unterberger description of the event. Were there any more songs recorded - aside from the two we have? Unterberger doesn't say much (in my edition anyway), lists it as the University of West Virginia, Wheeling, WV. No mention of Morgantown but I assume it's the same place? The o...

Re: Little Sister live

Interestingly Unterberger states that Little Sister was copyrighted on 22 April 1966, which would be perfect timing for it to be recorded for VU&N. Never heard of that being the case before though.

Re: Little Sister live

So does Unterberger give much detail on what the rest of this show at... Morgantown... is like? Is it the full gig? How listenable is the rest of it? I'm guessing that as Little Sister is a fairly quiet song it doesn't suffer as badly from the distortion as some of the others? According to Olivier'...

This would be Provincetown, MA, September 1966.

I was thinking about asking the organization that owns the tape for a copy, but I will assume this is no longer necessary. Yay!
Not that I'm in a position to disagree, but what makes you think it's from the Provincetown gig?

Re: Little Sister live

Well it certainly sounds like what I imagine Little Sister live in November 1966 would sound like. What the hell? Is this a new recording we've never heard of? Certainly I'm not aware of any recordings from then? It's like the return of Rosie Lee - in other words, cool! Thanks for posting, care to s...

Re: Best sources for live recordings

The links to the speed-corrected FLACs of 1966 on page 7 of the other thread still seem to be working.
