Re: "Todd Haynes Quarantined with His Editor to Finish His Queer Velvet Underground Doc"

This article which made the rounds a few weeks ago says "Summer 2021". I haven't seen a more precise date than that. Unfortunately, the article does not leave me hopeful that we'll be getting any previously unknown footage of the band performing: https://ew.com/movies/todd-haynes-velvet-underground-...

As I recall, these were mostly Lou playing solo, with Cale serving mostly as the audience, adding occasional harmonies. See...

Re: Richie Unterberger on the making of White Light/White Heat*

There is an tape in the archives called "Lou Songs [Velvet Underground Demos] circa 1967-1968". This is definitely Cale era, and it includes Ocean. Lou Songs [Velvet Underground Demos] circa 1967-1968 Side A Beginning To See The Light 1 Beginning To See The Light 2 [Song Idea] [Guitar Idea (Ocean)] ...

Re: Richie Unterberger on the making of White Light/White Heat*

It's been so long now and no one has been to hear those tapes - which were added to public access after the last person who reported here went to the archive. I was the person who reported from the archive in April last year, and, as far as I can tell, this tape still isn't available to the public....

Re: Richie Unterberger on the making of White Light/White Heat*

Didn't Richie say there was something like 3 times the content in the eBook? He said a lot of people approached him after the book came out in print. I haven't read either yet, though I have the printed book. At this point, I'll probably get the eBook and read that. It's not very expensive. The prin...

Re: "Todd Haynes Quarantined with His Editor to Finish His Queer Velvet Underground Doc"

Wasn't Lonesome Cowboy Bill supposed to be William Burroughs?

Todd Haynes is the same director who had Kate Blanchard play Bob Dylan, so I suppose we shouldn't be too surprised at an unconventional take.
