Re: Favourite Cale-Era Bootlegs

The single sided LP I have sounds pretty bad. Very muffled, like it has been recorded in a cinema auditorium on a mic. Is that the same as your recording? It's a bit annoying to listen to Pope Ondine talking whilst the music plays, but the music is much clearer on the Raro DVD I reckon it is. It's ...

Re: Favourite Cale-Era Bootlegs

Is the best version of the 'Nico Crying Reel' music from the Raro DVD? It suffers with the bleed through of Ondine's overlapping monologue. The most complete version is from a single screen version that I obtained on dvdr a long while back. Unfortunately, like the Raro Video dvd, it cuts the exit m...

Re: 1968 Upbeat Footage Survival Confirmed?

Re: 1968 Upbeat Footage Survival Confirmed?

re. Todd Haynes. The problem with documentaries is that they rarely if ever play the whole of a piece of surviving performance footage completely through.

Re: Third Album - with Cale?

Please make this. Someone just needs to go back to the library and see if they have made the Cale tapes available now. Taking a stereo 3.5 jack lead to record the headphone-out onto you laptop - is my polite suggestion :).

Re: Cale-Era Concert Tape Recovery?

Nice idea, but my guess is that there's as much hope of this being possible as there is of extracting the sound vibrations still embedded in the original concert venue walls.

We can only hope that one day it turns out that Lou or John made a copy of the tape.
