Re: Collections ...

This is a good one! Some time ago i read an interview with Jeff Gold - Recordmeca, most probably the biggest record collector in the world. He reflected his family did not have interest in records so it would be a big mess for them handling the huge and high-value collection. He thought at one point...

Re: The Velvet Underground Documentary - Call to Fans

In the Summer of 2010 I had some email exchange with Tony Conrad. This is what he told me about the UPBEAT show: "Hi Alfredo------------- Well, I do have a recording of that show------but it's on a reel-to-reel AUDIOtape; and I'm away from my collection right now, so I don't have access to it. I hav...

Re: Complete list of Velvets Footage?

The Michigan State Fairgrounds Mod Wedding Nov 20, 1966 was filmed at least twice. For local Tv (Taxine found years ago the Website offering the footage) and according to the Fifth State Newspaper Dec 1966 Warhol camera "was recording he event for presentation to the bride and groom"... Re: Rare, Rarest and Most Expensive VU items

This Ad was printed in the Distant Drummer May 22, 1969 issue. Only difference is the Newspaper Header with page 14 and date. Also the JUNE 1969 Vol1 No5 is placed differently: right below the Electric Factory logo (Inevitable page 325) The large picture on the booklet for 4CD Matrix box Set is fron...

Re: John Cale recorded five '3rd' album songs with VU?

Well it did always seem to me a very strange set list for 1966. It is true, if John was covering vocals for Lou and everyone else was switching instruments, wouldn't they play the songs they were most familiar with? But still they couldn't have been playing the Columbus setlist all year long, kind ...

Re: John Cale recorded five '3rd' album songs with VU?

The 3 songs published recorded at TTG in May were done on the 29th. The band was recording the previous day too, May 28th. They cut two song: “Here Come The Waves” 3:20 With gtr, rhythm gtr, bass and drums “ It’ s Gonna Rain Tomorrow “ 3:05 seems just an attempt, as there is no drums. Just two gtrs ...
