Re: Sound excerpts from interview with John Cale, 1966 September

i can hear some of the Symphony of Sound soundtrack here and there, but don't recognise all the projected film sounds, Symphony of Sound, definitely. In the interview they describe that film and say it is untitled. I can also hear lots of Hedy; I listen to an edit of the soundtrack more often than ...

Re: Little Sister live

Idly musing on Simonm's suggestion of a possible connection between the use of 'youngman' by John Rechy and Lou, I found myself on Urban Dictionary, where they make a similar connection with its use in YMCA.

Re: Little Sister live

I was just thinking about the given title Youngman 11-66 - youngman is the term for a hustler in John Rechy's queer classic City Of Night published by Grove Press in '63. I'm sure Lou would have had it on his bookshelf next to Hubert Selby's Last Exit To Brooklyn - could that have been a reference ...

Re: Max's Kansas City Tapes :: Conrad?

From the inherent distortion in the available samples, I'd say that the Freeman tapes aren't worth much to any record label. I was surprised by your comment iaredatsun and I've just played the samples. I'm not hearing the distortion you refer to. It's not soundboard, but vocals and lead guitar seem...

Re: Bootleg with AI...

I've used an online AI vocal remover on a couple of things with varying results. For the rehearsal jam on Andy Warhol From Tapes, it successfully removed two of the voiceover sections, but there is artifacting on the third. I also used it on a section of the Gerard Malanga reel from Chelsea Girls. T...
