Broom St. demos In Nov '66 we have setlists that show they were not doing any of this material, so the mod-wedding connection seems a little bit speculative. As I commented first, the by me suggested relation between Broom ST. demos (especialy "Here She Comes Now") and the mod-wedding is purely my ...

Re: Prominent Men: Early Demos

Related in what way? Related like songs started and/or developed during rehearsals for the Mod Wedding. Fits in the timeline and subject and could explain the difference in mood and sound. These demo songs were always a mystery to me, as they never seemed fit into the VU chronology of songs. But it...

Re: Broome Street demos

There's some on the sleeve of either the Etc or And So On bootleg LP, sourced from Sterling I think, that states those songs were recorded at a place on Broom St not Ludlow. I suspect Ludlow is just lazy fact checking on the Peel Slowly box. Made me dig into available info about those "Broome Stree...

Sorry, something went wrong with the topic subject (may be too long?).
Shortened it now in my reply, hope this works and makes it clear.

Review of Dreamweapon III with VU (1965, New Yorker)

As posted before I'm going through 1960s editions of The New Yorker, very few mentions of The Velvet Underground found. But one very interesting and good one is a review of Rites of the Dreamweapon - Part III - The Mysteries of the Essence Chamber - by Angus MacLise [with as mentioned in the review:...

It sucks that Cashbox's online archive is only a very poorly OCR'd text, compared to Billboard's wonderful full-page scans.
And much more full pdfs at https://americanradiohistory.com/Cash-Box-Magazine.htm
