Those lyrics are very similar to a 19th century Fench Folk song " La Vieille Fille" . Out of curiousity did the instrumental part sound a bit like Venus in Furs ?

Just a guess , but I would assume that any unsold or unordered stock singles were destroyed by the record company. promos(D.J. singles) were kept around
longer by radio stations.
