Re: William Kermit Smith

Montreal's Expo 67 only ran in the summer (well, April to October) so a January engagement doesn't make a lot of sense...

Re: Never Get Emotionally Involved With a Man Woman Beast or Child

What implies that? I couldn't see any reference to it on either the Facebook page or the article about the poetry book? The fact that they have added a tease of the song to an advert for the book while stating that there are exciting projects in the works implies it could be among those projects. I...

Never Get Emotionally Involved With a Man Woman Beast or Child

So Lou's facebook page uploaded a short video yesterday, if you click play and wait a few seconds for the music to start you hear him sing: "never get emotionally involved with a man or a woman or a beast or a child" !!! The fabled never-heard Velvet Underground song! Hopefully this means there are ...

Re: would you follow lou reed if he hadn't been in VU?

While I heard the VU & Nico first, I didn't explore the other albums or solo work right away, mostly because I didn't realize it was a proper band with more albums - I just thought it was an Andy Warhol project because I learned about it in art class. Later on I listened to Transformer when I found ...

Re: Unearthed EPI Review - Hamilton, Nov 12 66

Hey that's my hometown too! So I've also been interested in that show. When I visited the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh a couple years ago I was tickled to see a review of the Hamilton concert on display in the VU section. The concert and review is covered in the book White Light/White Heat and j...

Just tested it and disc 1 downloaded and unzipped for me OK.
Never mind it worked for me now, guess I just had a bad internet connection. And I do like the cover!

Re: 1969 Live With Lou Reed private remaster

All - you’re welcome and glad you like it! 1969 is my second-favorite Velvets album after the third album. I love all their work of course but what they were up to all throughout 1969 (the year) is special to me. I do think the cover is awful though, so my choice of alternate cover is somewhat of a...

Re: Anyone else read the new DeCurtis Lou bio?

This one is damn interesting: https://tinyurl.com/ycew9jsl It's an odd duck of a book, but considering how maligned she was by Lou over the years it's valuable to finally get her story, biased though it may be, on the record. I read this one too, and boy the writing is... not great either. Kinda cr...
