Re: Tea Party Tapes? Warhol reel? Any news?

The current crop of good quality BTP bootlegs that started coming out in about 10 years ago, e.g the LPs on the Keyhole and Spyglass labels that you can get on Amazon, are sourced from new digital transfers from the Professor's tapes, that were made around 2005. So are the keyhole/ spyglass release...

Re: What Goes On mag issue #2

Here is a Dropbox link to my scanned copy of WGO No2. I did it on my printer as .jpeg's some years ago so definitely not library archive quality. Let me know if there is a problem with the link & I can redo it or just upload all 24 pages here. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6qeax4d73tie76o/AABPNf19pqnc...

Re: Another official release at the wrong speed (2nd Fret)

Bob K later said that eventually they did use his master, and made a fresh transfer for the release of the box set. He complained that they did not do the transfer correctly. He is member Vinylbob on the Hoffman forum, and his comments responding to complaints about the poor audio quality are below,...

Re: Another official release at the wrong speed (2nd Fret)

I just checked - it was a user on Hoffman called rnranimal who made that comment in November 2015, the link to the comment and discussion on that forum is below

Re: Another official release at the wrong speed (2nd Fret)

I was planning to speed correct this in the next week or so, but its disheartening to hear that the speed problems get worse through the recording. Someone on the Hoffman forum posted this comment a while back, which was going to be my starting point: "I don't have the set, but going on the youtube ...

Re: Candy Says performance in Haynes documentary

I havent seen the documentary but Candy Says would likely be from Steve Nelson's silent footage shot at the Paramount Theatre in 1970 There is more, apparently a near complete Heroin included Yes, the credits at the end include velvet underground video at paramount theater, springfield, shot by and...

Re: Candy Says performance in Haynes documentary

In the Todd Haynes documentary, there is footage of the band performing “Candy Says,” with Doug on vocals, and Lou playing guitar. The studio version is on the audio track, but the video looks to be from a live performance. Judging by the clothes and hairstyles, it looks to be 1970/Loaded era foota...

Re: Guess I'm Falling In Love fake live version?

From kidcalabria's upload history on youtube they look like someone knowledgeable about music of that era, but not necessarily VU. I wondered if they had maybe confused Guess Im Falling in Love with The Ostrich.

I definitely cant hear any other instruments - no drums, no bass, just guitars.......

Re: Guess I'm Falling In Love fake live version?

Interesting one this mystery...............to throw another theory into the mix... .......what if we focus on the fact that this was labelled "Lou Reed" not the Velvet Underground. Also on the fact that you really cant hear the rest of the band, at most it sounds like there are two guitars here, no ...

Re: "guitar amp" recording

The Afterhours tape is the best version Ive found, lower gen than the one above. It needs speedcorrecting, which is easy to do. However the version I have has a pretty much inaudible high pitched noise which runs through a few tracks towards the end (I only noticed it because you can see it on the s...
