Re: Lou Reed Poetry in 1971 Harvard Advocate

I also noticed that Sweet Jane included the "Heavenly Wine and Roses" line, which, as far as I know, was otherwise unknown at the time to anyone who hadn't seen them live. I saw that as well. Then I realised that this little bridge segment didn't appear in either "Between Thought And Expression" (1...

Re: Lou Reed Poetry in 1971 Harvard Advocate

Also interesting to compare with the version that Lou performed in Marseille, France, March 1975. Looks like he reverted to (more of) his older lyrics when he finally recorded it in the studio in late 75. "Coney Island Baby" (The Glory Of Love) When the sun comes up at night And you find that everyt...

Here's the ebay blurb: Harvard Advocate, Special Poetry Supplement, Fall 1971. Included are 8 poems (or songs) attributed to "Louis Reed," which ...

Re: "Hedy" gabless

I got the 70m min "complete" recording back in the mid-1980s but I can't remember where from. Possibly Bob Collington ("bobbldr") or maybe Jeremy Reed or Chris Carter. Have to say I've not listened to it in years....

Re: couple articles of interest

thanks a lot for those - especially the review of the July 11th 69 show which I had read before, but which now drove me to go and listen again to the Professor's recording of that show. It puts the MC's introductory words nicely into context "...so for the last time on this stage...". Richard's revi...
