Re: Killer Road

It's on youtube https://youtu.be/Hil54huNpeg, go listen (I tried but couldn't).

Also hidden away in a different place is a promo video for Evening of Light - https://youtu.be/FkI4znaD7qA - featuring Nico in a potato field with a description by Iggy Pop.

Re: New Bataclan edition

Was there really a rehearsal in London? Weren't PBE and Candy on the long soundcheck, available on various tapes in the 80s or 90s?

I'd like to change the title of this topic to "P.R. shoes ..." :P
Not "Growing up in Publicity?"

ps I hadn't realised Kermit had split with Miss Piggy.

Re: Cale & Nico live footage, 1988

Nice. But when did Nico start singing Child's Christmas? There's a version from CBGB's June 16 1979 (Hans' site says 1976 on the Dr Dark cd, probably an error) then there's this version in '88.

Are there any other known performances?

Also, why should Nico choose that song?

Re: More scanned articles

Some stuff turned up, inconsequential fluff really, so I've posted it as "Phase55b_Curiosities".

There's a '73 ad for Berlin, plugs for the Reed and Cale documentaries on UK television in '98, and a publisher's promo for the James Young book.

Re: JOHN CALE BARBICAN LONDON 10-3-2018

Interesting, thanks. It's on YouTube; Cale plays keyboards, the pace is slowed and the arrangement makes it sound like something from "Walking on Locusts".

He's digging deep now so what comes next? Melody Laughter? Or 76 guitars, one for each year of his life, playing "Why don't you smile now"'?

Re: Tones, Drones And Arpeggios: The Magic Of Minimalism

Yes there was a reference there, minimalism influencing some of the biggest albums and bands of the 60s and 70s (Tubular Bells and Velvet Underground). It seems that Stockhausen influenced John Cage whose disciple La Monte Young influenced John Cale. I guess we knew most of that. Then Jarvis Cocker ...

Tones, Drones And Arpeggios: The Magic Of Minimalism

Is this Velvet stuff? I really don't know, but here in the UK BBC4 will be showing "Tones, Drones And Arpeggios: The Magic Of Minimalism" on Friday 2nd March 2018 (that's today as I write this) with a repeat in the early hours. Episode 1 features La Monte Young and Terry Riley so there might be a re...
