There's also 'Sad Lonely Orphan Boy' which is on the Primitives rehearsal take.

Re: Dear Delmore- It has been a very long summer and winter.

You've got a couple of duplicates there - Soul City and It's Hard For a Girl are on Soundsville. The Unterberger book mentions a few Pickwick co-writes that don't seem to have been released. And of course Walk Alone is credited to the Pickwick team, maybe for contractual reasons (a contender for Lou...

Re: Dear Delmore- It has been a very long summer and winter.

Wow. Now that's what I call a letter of note. Thanks so much for posting it, and how amazing that it's survived. Is it dated at all? It reads like he's already quit Pickwick so it'd be interesting to know when that was. Do we know who the 'manager' he refers to was?

Wonder if Delmore ever wrote back?

Re: VU in Dallas 1969 with sound...

Extraordinary find! Did anyone else spot Doug sitting just out of shot next to Sterling? There's also the second video of film offcuts, linked through from the first YouTube video. All silent, but more bits of the VU playing and Lou talking on camera. The audio was obviously taped separately - proba...

Re: The Velvet Underground Documentary - Call to Fans

See if you can get CBS to explore their archives and see if there's a copy of the 1965 Walter Cronkite Show footage with the original VU music on the soundtrack. There's a long section where the voiceover stops which is clearly where the music is supposed to fade up, but it's silent on the copy that...

Re: Complete list of Velvets Footage?

The After the White Heat boot is just a nose ahead of other copies I've heard. Except it doesn't have Heroin! That footage does also include Doug singing Candy Says though

Re: Complete list of Velvets Footage?

There's Gerard Malanga's silent Paraphernalia footage from 1966. You'll have seen it, with the silver balloons.

I did this a long time ago but it's somewhat out of date now and there are one or two errors - eg the extant copy of the 1965 CBS sound has no VU audio.

Re: George Nardo

It'd be interesting to know what his perspective was on the Lou situation at the time. Was it known he was gone for good, or was Sesnick initially spinning it as "Lou's taking a break, he'll be back in a few weeks"? This would be right when the finishing touches were being put to Loaded, and indeed ...
