Re: Tea Party Tapes? Warhol reel? Any news?

I realy like the Scepter acetate versions. Are the banana album versions of Waiting/Venus/H technically superior? Undoubtedly. But those earlier versions (Waiting especially) have a rawness that's probably a truer picture of what the band sounded like at the time. Some of the acetate mixes of the ot...

Re: Todd Haynes docu announcement

The following information is on the old Piero website by Ondrej. The source isn't mentioned but it reads like it's from another catalogue/programme: VENUS IN FURS (1965) Format: 16mm, 16 minutes, color, silent with sound on tape Director: Piero Heliczer Cinematography: Piero Heliczer Cast: John Cale...

He also said he heard the 2 songs the post-Lou Velvet recorded and that they were dreadful, so I guess that's why they weren't included
That's a shame evenso. As Sal once said, none of this stuff is wasted on VU fans!

Re: Possible previously unknown song from pre-VU Lou band seen on eBay

Bob Motta is credited as a co-writer on I've Got a Tiger In My Tank on Soundsville and on the single, but it's still a stretch to say that Lou was definitely involved on this other track.

Re: Max's Kansas correct speed version

Very kind of you, thank you! A simple but really great piece of work that makes a huge difference. As well as the actual sound, I found it easier to pick out quite a few new details at the slower speed - bit of chat from Lou etc, and things about the performance. I'd never noticed how lackluster the...

Re: Max's Kansas correct speed version

I've been useless and failed to get round to downloading the fixed version and the two full sets before the links expired. Don't want to presume any further on Mr Datsun's time, but could some other kind soul perhaps send a copy my way?

Re: 9 LP Loaded Box (nothing new...)

For me the highlight of the original release of that set is the stereo fold down of the 5:1 mix. Probably the best version of Loaded, full stop, in my opinion. And of course they've not included it here. Pass.

It says it's powered by Vimeo, so you can probably use a Vimeo downloader browser plugin to grab a copy. Not that I'm advocating such behaviour, you understand.

Re: VU 1966 Jam Session Film has been released in 1080p (Along with other Andy Warhol Films)

On one level (as Steve Sesnick might've said), this is great news. On the other... $15 a pop for streamed content created nearly 60 years ago, that cost virtually nothing to make and has been exploited for years through screenings and expensive licensed releases? Who are they trying to kid? Still, h...
