Does anyone know where those two images of the Primitives came from?? Name of photographer or source of publication, anything..? Am trying to track one down for a text on Tony Conrad. Thanks!

"Jack Cigarette 64" featuring severe-looking Jack Smith and Beverly Grant(from "Batman Dracula") enjoying nicotine as intensely as two people could.

Andy Warhol Films MOMA.

Jack's look, from half a century ago, could pass for contemporary today.

Great picture of Jack Smith and Beverly Grant!

When I saw Tony Conrad at South London Gallery Tony Conrad last year, in response to an audience question, he mentioned how he had walked off with Jack's leading lady, Beverly.

Has this pic of Barbara Rubin watching Lou been posted before?

It's always amazing what you come up with, taxing!
Sorry to have no idea about the date, but 69 or even 70 may be a good guess.

This Moe Tucker photo was shot by Doug Yule in 1969, and originally published in 1996 in "'69 on the Road" book. I think it also appears in the recent deluxe edition of the third album.

I have often wondered where these pics were taken. I have a theory it was Chateau Marmont in L.A. - lots of musicians, actors etc stayed there (and still do) the architecture is very distinctive and i'm sure its the kind of place the VU would have stayed in. If you're in LA drop by the bar its a cool place for a few beers..
