It matches the description of The Dom in (I think) Up-Tight - right down to the cheesecloth tables. As for the lack of multimedia, maybe the photos were taken during soundcheck? Or with a powerful flash which could have bleached out the projections momentarily?

We have discussed this before: the Velvet Underground never played at The Dom but The Open Stage, which was upstairs The Dom. You can see Nico walking down the stairs.
The Open Stage was named latter The Balloon Farm and then The Electric Circus.

The Dom was always the Dom. Only Nico played there from Feb to April 1967

In my opinion there is no doubt that these pics were taken April 1966 at the Open Stage. During the very first Exploding Plastic Inevitable. The week before was knon as Erupting Plastic Inevitable.

An additional frame from that set has been found, and it indeed shows the "multimedia" portion of the performance!

It's a shame they had to airbrush that off the back of White Light/White Heat

Taxine, this is just a wonderful finding. This is new to me and first time i see the Dom and Nico playing there!

I knew from some writen reports that it was an small place, more like a bar. Your pic is the perfect probe of that! What a shame we can not see WHO is playing the gtr for her that night! Does Getty Images says when picture was taken.?

Sorry... it says April 1, so one of the last shows. Will check but from top of my head Mike Talbot is the name on April Dom ads

My understanding is that the Getty site renders all dates where only month and year are known as the 1st of that month. Thus "April 1" could theoretically be any date in that month.
