Lou Reed on cover of Mojo and free CD

Post by velvetwill1 » 26 Sep 2016 16:35

Latest issue of Mojo magazine (Lou on the cover) features an article on the making of Transformer and the free CD is a sampler of the forthcoming boxset.

Good monthly, sadly interested only in oldies. Strangely enough, 6 tracks came from Velvet legacy, apparently one culled from each album (great idea), no 'Rooftop garden', sad.

Thanks for the Mojo note. I was hoping to find the "The RCA & Arista Album Collection Sampler" mentioned on Hoffman, but that's industry insider only, I think. This is a good overview for £5.25.

Agree about no Rooftop Garden, and I think they could have made a more interesting choice form Street Hassle, but at least we have Andy's Chest.

So far, I've enjoyed the guitar sound on Berlin track and She's My Best Friend. I wonder what people think this is like compared to the recent HDTracks versions. I remember the HDTracks version of Transformer went down like a lead balloon.
