Vid on the link of John & Moe playing together (Waiting)
The Velvet Underground's John Cale and Moe Tucker reunited recently for a keyboard-banging performance of "I'm Waiting for the Man," a track off their 1967 debut, The Velvet Underground and Nico. Cale played a Kurzweil and sang Lou Reed's part, while Tucker played the woodblock along with Cale's band, as part of the Grammy Salute to Music Legends concert.

Thanks, nice post.
But Cale don't got the legs for such dress anymore.
Somebody might have told him we're not blind.

Re: John & Moe together on stage
Considering Cale's criticism of the 1993 reunion, I thought this was a somewhat unadventurous version. Nice to see, though.

From what I remember, he was pissed that THE BAND didn't do anything new. This is just him playing a "hit" with an old friend.hkmartin wrote:Considering Cale's criticism of the 1993 reunion, I thought this was a somewhat unadventurous version. Nice to see, though.
Besides, his disappointment in the reunion has had time to subside. It's been 25 years...

You're right - nothing wrong with that! This is just him playing a "hit" with an old friend.

Wow, I guess that's true. It occurs to me that the reunion is now closer to the release of Loaded than it is to the present day! Hard to believe. It's been 25 years...

I just recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of first hearing the Banana album, and it struck me that when I first heard it, the record was 25 years old. Getting old is weirdhkmartin wrote:Wow, I guess that's true. It occurs to me that the reunion is now closer to the release of Loaded than it is to the present day!
