Cale at New Victoria Theatre 1975

Post by threechordwonder » 31 Oct 2017 21:21

Some more scans, cut and pasted where necessary, on the pdf archive site.

Cale didn't really start touring as a solo artist until 1975 when he visited mainland Europe and many places in the UK. Here are a couple of reviews of a gig at the New Victoria Theatre, London, 20 Nov 1975.

An objective review from NME by Pete Erskine https://document.li/bQ6X

and a vitriolic review from Melody Maker by Edward Jones https://document.li/A5EV.

Finally an interview/article from Zigzag circa 1973 that I posted before (but that post now has dead links) https://document.li/Kyu9

At the end of the '73 Zigzag interview he talks positively about reforming the VU. Could it have worked in '73, I wonder?

I have deleted the Cale files from the PDF archive site, they are now on my cloud store https://c.mail.com/peterz1970@mail.com/ ... wdvJIhCmBA

The New Vic reviews are in file Phase07_Cale-Europe_75, the Zigzag article has been updated and is in Phase08_Cale_Zigzag_73 (well, it now contains the magazine cover and an ad for Paris1919).
