Oh, definitely this. No question this is a bootleg.iaredatsun wrote: ↑25 Jul 2018 12:49I would have thought that they'd have access to original tapes, and I'm sure they would let everyone know about that.

Re: New Bataclan edition
Finally got a response from Pledgemusic

On Discogs these all appear to be released under a label called Flashback. Which is a subsidiary of Sunbeam Records
I don't recognise any of these labels, but it still looks suspicious to me. If these recordings were available for official license and the representatives of Reed/Cale/Nico wanted it released then I'm sure it would be done via a bigger label than this
interesting that Pledgemusic are essentially admitting that they act in good faith that the products they are selling are legal. They don't actually check?!
"Red River Exports" doesn't get any useful hits on Google, but they have a bunch of releases listed hereWe're told that this product is officially licensed by Red River Exports and that all necessary royalties have been paid. PledgeMusic, as the retailer, acts in good faith that all licenses have been obtained and royalties are being paid.
Should we ever be made aware that this is not the case and that in fact a product we are retailing is not official or cleared in the correct manner, we always immediately pull the product from our site and no longer support the sale of the product

Re: New Bataclan edition
All these releases are bootlegs, on their catalog you'll find a lot of Spirit live shows taken from well known old illegal recordings.
Must hear if the glitch on Heroin is still present or not. If a legit disc is made, sure it 'll be with a DVD including the b&w or color footage recorded at this show. Best regards

Re: New Bataclan edition
Reviving this thread, as I have decided I'm in the market for Bataclan on vinyl - is there a speed-corrected version? There are several vinyl editions out there now, the most recent (?) being this one on a label called Radio Looploop (apparently UK-based):
Re: New Bataclan edition
The misspelling of 'John' doesn't inspire much confidence!
I've got the picture disc double vinyl set which came out on the Get Back label in 2005. I'll dig it out and give it a listen. I have a varispeed deck so that might improve things. I can't remember if it was pressed correctly or not, I suspect not. They are still for sale on Discogs and not listed as 'unauthorised'.

any sounds that we feel would detract from the performance has been left in place

They've used similar artwork as this 1996 CD version (with John spelt correctly)

Re: New Bataclan edition
thanks - I'm a bit unsure about the pic discs, but Get Back are more of a proper label than all these misc bootleggers, so that does seem the best prospect. Picture discs are so naff though! haha!
Re: New Bataclan edition
I listened to my pic disc/Get Back version and it's slow. I pitched it up +6 or so and it sounds ok. The pressing, even tho it's a pic disc is quite good.
But even so, can't really recommend it.

Re: New Bataclan edition
oh well, sounds like they are all as bad as each other - will just get the cheapest one!
Re: New Bataclan edition
For whatever it's worth, this one on Spyglass says it's "pitch and speed corrected".
