Great to see these - thanks for posting!

So, if they allow you to take your own headphones, there's some interesting potential there for anyone brave/resourceful/sneaky enough...

Concerning the currently unavailable John Cale studio material, I received this email from the Lou Reed archive:

There are still a number of the recordings they are still working on uploading to public access in the library. The material should be available with to the public within weeks. Sorry for any frustration.

Please let me know if you have any further questions

Because leaking archived audio would probably threaten the integrity of the Library's archives and their security.
Not to mention that recording things when you're not supposed to can land you in jail--but like Cam-rips from movie theaters, if you're careful you can pull it off, otherwise you're responsible for whichever stupidity gets you caught.

Alternatively, NYPL does offer method for getting duplicates and reproductions for audio: https://www.nypl.org/help/get-what-you- ... ideo-files

But your mileage may vary in that the estate that owns the recordings determines whether or not people can actually get audio copies.

Oddly enough, one of the Acoustic demos from the Robinson's Apartment recordings had already been available on bootleg before--kinda weird they didn't include the rest of them;

Tracks I've enjoyed (I live nearby to where commuting isn't an issue with listening to these);

--Men of good fortune: 10/10, perfectly executed sad song

--Put your money down: Basically "Prominent Men" but different lyrics and it's slowed down a little. I basically jotted they lyrics down and can play this on my acoustic.

--Buttercup song: 10/10, fucking slaps.

--"I wanna be black" demo : never in my life have i laughed this loud in a library, wrote lyrics down, this one is also easy to play
