My bet is on the "Symphony of Sound" soundtrack.

Tambourine guitar -- a different instrument entirely.

I don't know is this counts as "playing the guitar" but ...

Years ago I read that during a performance somwehere, Nico was "hitting a guitar with a drumstick".

Thirty seconds of intensive internet search now tells me that for the "A Symphony of Sound" rehearsal and/or film, Nico was seen "rattling a screwdriver across the strings of a bass". An official source (ok, Wikipedia) informs me it was Cale's Precision Fender bass.

From the Nico website: http://smironne.free.fr/NICO/FILMS/sym.html

From Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Velve ... y_of_Sound

Given the timings on the sleeve photo, the boot (if it exists) could be two extracts from A Symphony of Sound (as suggested in other replies).

Simon, I remember years ago you were talking about doing a transfer from the Raro VHS soundtrack of this - that being in theory the best, highest-resolution version that's out there. Did you ever do it? How did it turn out if so?
