Re: Lou Reed poetry reading 1966
This is great! But maybe it should say something like "Lou Reed's poetry being read"
A couple interesting things I noted:
a) One of the Lou Reed poems had a reference to "Rotten Rita". She appears again on the New York album in the song Halloween Parade.
b) Gerard mentions a Lou Reed poem called 'The Bed' but then says it's too hard for him to read. The song 'The Bed' wouldn't be hard to read as Gerard described it although the subject matter might actually be difficult to read.
c) I had no idea the term "rimming" existed back then!? Leave it too Lou to enlighten me. It's been a while since I read Burroughs but I don't recall that term being used, surely it was used in some of the books Lou had read. The audience did seem to be familiar with the term at least.
