Did I do you a transfer from my tape? I bought it around 1984, and it sounds a bit muffled compared to live 68, but pretty good overall iirc, it was the best quality of the tapes I had in the 80s.
I have a cd-r that might pre-date the Problems boot too I think, from trading in the old days of the Yahoo group...

I think it might be from my tape(s)? Mark kindly did a transfer of them years ago. They both are from circa 1982. The more complete tape includes the microphone checking and suchlike before What Goes On, which I haven't heard on other sources, and the other tape doesn't and is otherwise incomplete in that Sister Ray is cut, but I think may be of slightly better quality. I have always assumed that the second What Goes On, which is only on my more complete tape, is the one mentioned on Olivier's site as misdated October 26 1968, but I have never heard another recording of that, so would be grateful if anyone is able to confirm. That's The Story Of My Life also appears on Sweet Sister Ray's Murder Mystery, not sure from initial comparison whether it sounds noticeably different though.

I've still got the transfers of both tapes. You might have the second one titled as "La Cave 69", as that's how you sent it to me. (The original cassette had the gig misdated to 69.)
From a quick comparison the second tape is quite a bit clearer, but possibly with more wow and flutter (to my inexpert ears.)

Well... you're absolutely right. OK, this project may get revised sometime soon...

Having listened to some bits of the '1969' copy, it seems like there's more top end, but correspondingly more hiss. It might take a bit of serious A/Bing to establish whether one version or the other is truly better, if either one is!

i did a quick comparison between the 3 iterations I have
cassette - seemed good at the time, has the faster (2nd set?) version of WGO but not as clear. The quality overall is much better on the CD-R i got in trade, i probably traded it with a few people on here also - better sounding but with a bit of high end distortion and possibly a tiny bit speeded up? It starts with Doug saying Hello and some noise and a pause before WGO starts as on the tape - 9 tracks only (no Move Right In or I Can't Stand it) Pale Blue Eyes has the false start, but is counted as one track.
To my ears this CD-R is slightly better than the Problems boot.
Haven't had a chance to compare with your version...
