A VU version of Uncut's excellent 'Ultimate Music Guide' is out this week.
Always good to see the band on the news stand....

I wouldn't mind if the article on the documentary ('In Full' as they probably incautiously describe it) explained exactly where all the suspect audio snippets were from. Of course if they explained what UMG are up to with VU archive material that would be even better.

I see they've got Jonathnan Richman in there. He's like a VU dream on tap for these magazines and documentaries.

Given that back in the 80s info was very scarce on the band, it's ironic we know so much now. Thank you Olivier for starting the bandwagon! :)

I just finished my copy - thanks, bleach! - and I found the heavy Nico coverage to be a pleasant surprise.

Jonathan Richman writes, in the magazine, that he saw John Cale’s last gig with the VU. He also says that he knew it was Cale’s last gig. That would mean that Cale played a gig (or even some gigs), after he was ousted. Is that likely, or possible?

I believe the date of the gig is stated as 28 Sept. 68.
