I was just thinking about the given title Youngman 11-66 - youngman is the term for a hustler in John Rechy's queer classic City Of Night published by Grove Press in '63. I'm sure Lou would have had it on his bookshelf next to Hubert Selby's Last Exit To Brooklyn - could that have been a reference for the lyrics?

That's an interesting connection to make simonm and would make the apparently throwaway line about having 5 nickels and knowing how to get some more, meaningful for those in the know.

And on the version of Sweet Jane on Take No Prisoners, Lou says "What do I look like Henny Youngman up here, man?"

Greil Marcus could get a whole book out of this.
