Wow - yeah! I really like this version - it's like a different song from the Gymnasium version, rooted in the Booker T /Move Right sound, as Mark suggests. Great to hear - I'm really into the slower more stretched-out arrangement. Little Sister was a bit more of an oddity, and I haven't listened to it much but this is great. This period in late 66 is not well-covered...

I was just thinking about the given title Youngman 11-66 - youngman is the term for a hustler in John Rechy's queer classic City Of Night published by Grove Press in '63. I'm sure Lou would have had it on his bookshelf next to Hubert Selby's Last Exit To Brooklyn - could that have been a reference for the lyrics?

That's an interesting connection to make simonm and would make the apparently throwaway line about having 5 nickels and knowing how to get some more, meaningful for those in the know.
