Hey guys, I just started working on this. I am trying to get it done before going on vacation! Just giving ya something to look forward to. I have not transferred all the tapes yet (hence one "tape cut") and I am not sure how I'll split the CD's yet.
Here is the unfished text file:
Lou Reed
Venue: Nice (Nizza), FRANCE
Date: 30 June 1980
Lineage: TDK IEC II/Type II Chrome cassette -> Denon DRM-540 -> iMic (16-bit) -> .aif -> Peak4 (pitch correction/track splits) -> .flac (level 8)
01. Sweet Jane
02. Real Good Time Together
03. Waiting For The Man
04. Coney island Baby
05. Alone
06. Vicious
07. Walk On The Wild Side
08. Standing On Ceremony
09. Heroin
---tape cut---
10. Love is Here To Stay
11. Berlin
12. The Kids
13. The Power Of Positive Drinking
14. How Do You Speak To An Angel
15. My Old Man
16. Keep Away
17. The Bells
18. I'll Be Your Mirror
19. Introduction / Pale Blue Eyes
20. Street Hassle
21. Rock 'N' Roll / Keep Me Hangin' On / Rock 'N' Roll
Another show provided by Christian. Glad to have ya back!!
The cassettes I received were definitely pitched slightly slow, but other than fixing that I did not make any adjustments or use any filters. The only flaw I noticed was some "wobbling" in the volume during the first minute of "Waiting for My Man." Outside of that, this is a pretty good recording (B+)! My guess is that any circulating copies were made from the slow-pitched recording, so this is very likely an upgrade to what's available.

OK, I finally finished! I'll be posting it in the afternoon on 1 June. Here is the info file. When I post it, I'll notify everyone in the torrent thread:

I split the shows according to where the tape-flips were. I didn't wanna break up anything - even crowd applause. If you wanna play around with the discs, be my guest!
I now run all of my analog-to-digital recordings through Peak4's "Remove DC Offset" tool. From the Peak4 manual: "Peak4 will scan the left and right channels of a stereo file independently. DC Offset is usually caused by problems in the analog to digital conversion process. The result is that the waveform is not centered on the base line ? it is offset either higher or lower than the center line."
The cassettes I received were definitely pitched slightly slow, but other than fixing that I did not make any adjustments or use any filters. Oh, and you've never heard a Pale Blue Eyes done like this! FUNKY!
