Do we know if these are from Specter or TTG? I'm just curious because if it's TTG, they only did Heroin, Waitng and Venus there - nothing with Nico on it. So why would she be there?

I previously said TTG but you are right Mark.
This should be Scepter.
Also pics from TTG recording sessions from 3rd show a different studio (much bigger)

Yup, that was my fault for causing the confusion in the earlier thread. Uptight labels those shots as being at TT&G, but that book (as wonderful as it was for its time) has quite a few of those sorts of errors.

Scepter for sure. In the two shots with Lou and Nico standing, that's Norm Dolph sitting on the left.

Good to see you here Sal
Either way, it's fantastic to see something of what went on when they recorded. As I think more than one VU fan in the past has said, it's extraordinary in a world in which everything needed to be documented down to everyone's bowel movements (ie the Factory/Warhol/etc group), it's amazing we have so little film and audio from that time. More keeps appearing, but how fantastic would it be if someone turned up quality film from these sessions, like those (for example) documenting the Pink Floyd/Dark Side of the Moon sessions from the 'Live at Pompeii' video.

I asked Norman Dolph about this picture and this is what he said:
Yes -
That is Scepter's control room. The engineer on the right is John Licata, I am the fellow in the lower left with glasses to whom Lou Reed is talking.
The young guy in the middle is the son of somebody or other who was brought along (probably by whoever took the photo.)
I have no recollection of him one way or the other. As you can see the control room is quite small and he must just have been there for the "Photo Op". The control room never held more than 2 people sitting down and maybe 3 standing up for a cramped playback.
The picture would have been taken by somebody standing in the studio, through the window of the control room.
It would be interesting to see other shots from the same roll.
Hope this helps
Norman Dolph
