Amazing VU Montage

Yesterday night I was watching Lou Reed Rock and Roll Heart since a long time again and there was a short clip i never noticed before.
Its only a few seconds long an shows in brilliant quality Nico singing It must be VU montage because behind nico is John Cale.
Has anyone some Infos?

I wondered the same when I first saw that footage. I'm sure it was also discussed on this forum some time back but I cannot remember if any "conclusion" was reached

I've wondered just the same thing. My best guess is that it's from some news footage about the EPI shows (maybe the spring '66 Dom/Trip as that's when the hype seemed to have most momentum). There's the voiceover, plus it's extraordinarily good quality, way beyond the archival/arty look of the Mekas/Warhol/Nameth films, which suggests it's the work of a mainstream TV company. I suspect there isn't much/any more VU from this source, else it would have surfaced.

Interesting - are you saying the same footage is used in Curious? Is it exactly the same or longer/different?
