Just bough this cool "Andy Warhol's Velvet Underground&Nico The Trauma Club - Philadelphia,PA 1967"repro from a canadian shop today on ebay
..... think it gonna fit ok hang on my wall next to my Poor Richard's b&w one.The seller claims that is nice&high-quality copy,but as most
reissues and repros the colours and desing are weaker than the original.


I've been getting some cool stuff up ,hope can make some pictures out and show us soon ....

Now i'm looking forward the EPI.& VU.at the trip may 66,the COOLEST !!!

The Vulcan Gas Company, Austin, Texas is my favorite Velvets poster, running just a c--t hair ahead of the Max's poster.

I wish I had my gold and white silk screen post of the VU at the Unicorn in Boston,
which I picked up from the venue the day after their residency ended, for $2.00.
That was June 1970. The picture was of the four of them used as a press release
from Atlantic, with Lou's arm resting on Moe and all the band smiling. It went
on my wall next to my bugged eyed picture of Lou " a true rock and roller"
from Crawdaddy. They eventually went into a box that my dad said he threw away
while I was in jail. It also had 2 copies of AW's index. A couple years ago my dad
said he didn't throw it away but hid it somewhere. I have a feeling I've posted this
before, but what memories.

Well ... this poster is one of a kind ... wish your dad truly hid it and you´ll find it sometime in the near future!

Howdy, where in Boston was the Unicorn? From all I've been able to gather it wasn't around very long.

And, did you ask your dad where in the hell he hid your VU stuff? If he can draw you up a treasure map or something, I'll be happy to help you dig up your booty!

The Unicorn was 815 Boylston Street, Boston, MA (Now the new Apple Store).

I went to Boston with a friend in hope of seeing the VU again. We stopped off
in DC to visit relatives and we broke up. I hitched north to Boston and scored
a place to stay at a dorm for students at Cambridge, I believe. There was a break
so the place was mostly vacated and I stayed on the 3rd floor in a huge room
with its own fireplace. The first night I was there I decided to lay low and
be thankful I had a free place. The next day I walked 3-4 blocks (10minutes)
and saw the Unicorn. I think they still had the VU advertised. Unfortunately
there last night at the venue was the night I arrived.
Anyway my dad used to say he was sorry he threw all my comics away
because they are worth alot. The last time he said that I finally countered
that I was more sorry about that box with my VU stuff. That's when he
said that he remembers that but recalls that he may have hid that from me.
I did ask him where the box could be. He does not know. The house he lives
in is fairly good sized. I did go through a lot of boxes and found other items
that I thought were lost, a good sign. It would take a couple of days to scour
the whole place. I live 800 miles to the north and don't know when I will
go back south. I will see if one of my brothers can look around.
As for comics, I have more golden age comics now then I did back in my youth
including all 169 issues of Classics Illustrated and Classic Comics, with
deleted issues and the famous suppressed #42.

wow! It's nice to hear stories like that. Wish I was born to look for VU shows
