*** V.U. SONG CONTEST - THIRD ROUND ***
*** V.U. SONG CONTEST - THIRD ROUND ***
And so I came back from leave and found two undecided matches
I flipped a coin and these were the results: Lady Godiva's Operation and Sweet Jane are through to the Third Round (last round before the Quarter Finals).
This means that the following sixteen songs will compete in the Third Round, which will start at the beginning of next week, when I'm back from Paris :
I'm Waiting for the Man
Venus in Furs
All Tomorrow's Parties
Heroin
There She Goes Again
The Black Angel's Death Song
European Son
Guess I'm Falling in Love
White Light/White Heat
The Gift
Lady Godiva's Operation
I Heard Her Call My Name
Sister Ray
Candy Says
What Goes On
Sweet Jane
The Cale-era albums are far better represented than the Yule ones, which is no surprise, really, given the way everybody consistently voted for the V.U.'s "alternative" side. Indeed, almost all of White Light/White Heat made it this far!
Now's also the time to state what song you think be the overall winner of the poll. I've looked at results of the poll I included at the start of the Second Round, and a slim majority advised me to make the voting percentage for the winning song the criterium.
So if you want to have a shot at winning the book, post an answer to this post in which you state (a) the voting percentage of the winning song (b) its name (c) the name of the losing finalist song. The (b) and (c) answers are used in that order to solve ties. If it's still a tie, lots once again will be drawn.
Please enter your post before Wednesday Feb. 23, 2005, 23:00 European Continental Time (=22:00 UK time, 17:00pm NY time). Entries or edits past 23:00 European Time will, unfortunately, be disqualified.

I'll go out on a limb first .... Sister Ray beats The Gift In a all white light final (heroin will be knocked out by sister ray before the final.) The Gift will get slaughtered , with Sister Ray getting 95% of the vote.(who are the other 5% ... I don't know , but squeeze got some votes)
Mistress Cleo told me so.... and if doesn't happen that way then the terrorists have won.

"Aw, You shouldn't do that. Don't you know you'll stain the carpet?"
