Mine arrived separately (UK) - not that there's anywhere in the book to store it anyway!

It's still listed here with the flexi shown and contact details (0845 070 2036 and
support@universal-music.co.uk). Hope it turns up:

My flexi came through separately and a few days before the CD set. It is limited edition, and I think I read somewhere that the UK was limited to 100 flexi discs, so you may have been unlucky.

I must admit I'm pissed off about the sound level drops on a couple of the Gymnasium tracks - what the f***'s that all about? Careless, and ruins the listening experience for me.

The volume drops are easy to sort out. Just use audacity, select the relevant bit and amplify +5 dB. You just have to be careful to select the right bit so that it ends up with no noticeable change in volume, which is possible.

Thanks for the tip, I'll try it - but why couldn't they do that?! Shoddy.
Otherwise a great release tho, the Cale '68 tracks have never sounded better.

My copy still has not been sent from Amazon.com - a couple of emails have been given the form letter treatment. I'm not impressed.
I'm also not impressed with the volume dips that have been mentioned - isn't there any quality control on these things? It reminds me on some of the screwy tape defects on the Loaded outtakes on PS&S.

Regarding the volume dips I cant imagine it really is carelessness that meant they were left in - it must have been a thought through decision, since its hard to believe they just didn't notice or couldn't be bothered. They may just have wanted to give us the tape as it originally was without too much processing, in which case I kinda appreciate it. However it seems odd then that they cut the bits between songs that we have from the bootlegs like dispatches, even cutting the spoken introduction to waiting!. That's what annoys me more - there was plenty of space on the disc to include the whole uncut tape.

It's like when they cut the immortal "I'm scared to play it back" line from the very end of the Valleydale gig on the VU&N Super Deluxe - I love that line! Why cut things like that out, they're part of VU history as well?!

Also on VU&Nico 6cd, the Warhol tapes weren't complete, a lot of tracks were left and other from acetates were with lot of crackles. Perhaps for the century editions, so in 2066 and 2067, all this'll be corrected.
