You have much trouble and track nine seems very far away indeed! Hint is very easy. Who produced Rock 'N Roll Animal? Hah Hah! this is your hint. You have to work hard for this one. You must connect the dots!
I give second hint for fun: The lyric is not the name of Lou's song.
I give third hint for laughs: Where are your boots, Lou?
I am the Octopussy of Rock and Roll. I am Rosie Lee! These are your only hints. I will not give more. These hints are very good if you know how to approach them. If nobody guesses...I may just disappear forever!!!
My attempt:
Producer Steve Katz
Cats
Connect The Dots
Dogs
Where are Lou´s Boots: at his feet, ermm....
feed
So. This is lousy. Something with Cats and Dogs and feed?!?!?!
.... I´m stuck!
(don´t laugh at me....)

the more I look at my infantile attempt, the more I´m sure that the lyrics should contain something like "feed the cats and dogs". But I cannot find the song.... Please help!
Songs that include dogs and cats:
I CAN´T STAND IT (Lou Reed´s First, VU, Live)
ANIMAL LANGUAGE (Sally can´t dance)
Is there any gospel reference?! I´ll have to check this when I´m back home.

3rd attempt (to finalize my thoughts):
I CAN´T STAND IT:
I live with thirteen dead cats
A purple dog that wears spats
They're all living out in the hall
And I can't stand it any more
So please, if there are any gospel references in "i can´t stand it", please find out and post! I´m done...

This is Rosie Lee.
Searchin' is very good. That is answer! Here is my hints:
Who produced Rock N Roll Animal? Steve Katz - Katz played on the Blues Project LP, Projection, which contained the song Wake Me Shake Me.
Name of song Wagon Wheel...which is not title.
Third hint was "Where are your boots, Lou?" - On the VU interview bootleg w/ Cale & Lou and some DJ, the DJ says it is first time he see Lou in regular shoes. He then mentions The Blues Project and their song Wake Me Shake Me.
"Wake Me Shake Me...please dont let me sleep to late" are lyrics. You do not know Rosie Lee!! But S4ML knows answers!!

But Rosie, what is the "gospel" reference in the above answer?
"If anyone had a heart
They wouldn't turn around & break it
And if anyone played a part
They wouldn't turn around & fake it"
Lou Reed, 'Sweet Jane', 1970

Actually, I thought lostinblues' answer was very good! Even had a 'gospel' reference - DOG reversed is....GOD!
"If anyone had a heart
They wouldn't turn around & break it
And if anyone played a part
They wouldn't turn around & fake it"
Lou Reed, 'Sweet Jane', 1970

Oh, heavenly father, what can I do
what she's done to me is making me crazy
Oh, heavenly father, I know I have sinned
but look where I've been, it's making me lazy
Won't you be my wagon wheel?
Say what you mean, mean what you say. Just say it to be mean.
