JOHN CALE - 1984-02-06 - Mannheim - AUD Master from the collection of MILAVALENTI #034 - Upgrade! check sample

John Cale
Alte Feuerwache, Mannheim, Germany
February - 06 - 1984

from MILAVALENTI collection # 034
*********************************

The MILAVALENTI collection consists mostly of 80's and some 90's and 2000's masters in generally great sound. Most of the concerts
which will be uploaded from this collection are uncirculated. I met the taper who is an old friend of mine recently after more than 20 years.
He was happy to give me his very precious gems to be presented to a wider public. In the 80's I often went to concerts with him and sometimes
both of us were recording.
So some of the recordings which will be uploaded have been uploaded by me before as of my masters collections and some of his recordings
which had been uploaded by me already as first gen copies will now be re-uploaded as master transfers.
The musical style varies from "normal Rock acts" to Wave/Punk and Avantgarde. Also some German Post-Punk acts are included.

Rec. Info:
Aiwa Walkman with plug-in mic -> Mastercassette -> transfer via Onkyo tapedeck TA-2330 -> Magix Music Cleaning Lab (edit/remaster) -> FLAC -> DIME
I have upped this recording to dime already in 2013. At this time I was wrongly thinking that it was my own master recording. In fact it was a first gen copy of the MILAVALENTI master. Also I had to complete the upload with the last 2 songs missing on my 1st gen copy. Those I had received from gazatthebop. As it turned out these 2 tracks were from the same master by MILAVALENTI.
So now I received the master tape from MILAVALENTI and made a fresh transfer via my tapedeck. After some minor EQ and level adjustments this is a fantastic recording with only some very little flaws like 2 or three mike drop-outs, one of them audible at the start of Dead Or Alive (where also a small portion of the start is missing).
The great sound is also resulting from the fantastic sound characteristic of the Feuerwache in Mannheim (see also R.E.M. 1985: http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-deta ... ?id=572090).
At the end this is an essential upgrade to the previous upload on dime.
I made some cover art which is attached.
