John Cale - 1985-04-21 London, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club

John Cale
Ronnie Scott's Jazz club, London, 21 April 1985

One of my very best, and most unusual, recordings that I found in a
box of cassettes over the weekend. This is a solo John Cale show at
a tiny venue in London. Maybe 250 people attended.

I sat at one of the tables at the front maybe 10 feet away from Cale.
He plays the show on guitar and piano basically sitting at the piano
stool the whole time. Recording was tricky as he was so close and the
venue was quite bright!

Some great versions of classic Cale tracks and a blistering cover of
"Heartbreak Hotel" have made this recording one of my all time
favourites. Hope you all share that view.

Lineage: Master recording, walkman pro, TDK AD90, Nakamichi DR-3,
Soundforge, WAV, FLACs

Quality: Excellent throughout, though some tape hiss.
