The Velvet Underground
July 11, 1969
The Boston Tea Party, Boston, Massachusetts
Recorded by "The Professor"
Aud tape >> 4th or 5th gen(?) tape > CD Wave > Flac

1. Intro
2. I'm Waiting For The Man
3. Jesus
4. Run Run Run
5. I'm Set Free
6. White Light/White Heat
7. Candy Says
7. Pale Blue Eyes
9. Beginning To See The Light
10. Sister Ray/Murder Mystery

I received this as a cassette in a trade recently. The person I got it from (through this forum) thought it was 4th or 5th generation but couldn't say for sure. Two tracks are widely available on other boots (Run Run Run on Legendaly Guitar Amp and Sister Ray on Sweet Sister Ray), this is the complete show. There may be better quality versions circulating but I haven't come across any. I did a straight transfer with CDWave, I'll leave the cleaning up to someone more capable. The tape flip is between Candy and Pale. Don't expect too much from the quality, there's an improvement about halfway through Run but even then a B- is probably generous. Still, worth the effort, some great versions here including a blistering WL/WH. Is that Doug singing Pale Blue Eyes instead of Lou? A nice touch -- when the band leaves the stage at the end of Beginning To See The Light, you can hear what I assume is the legendary taper the Professor and female companion yelling out for Sister Ray. The VU did have some real fans back then.

I'm firewalled so please be patient. If my connection drops, I'm working to get it back. And if anyone can improve the sound on this or post a better version, please do so.

THIS IS NOT MY SEED, BUT djbawbag, so don't forget to thank him.

The Velvet Underground and Nico

Scepter Studios, New York City, New York, April 25 1966

Alternate studio versions of songs from The Velvet Underground and Nico.

Acetate (very scratchy) > Japanese bootleg CD > ( CDR copy ?) > Flac

Got these from another site. Thought they would have turned up here before now.
Flac files are as I downloaded them , hence the wrong titles from the dodgy bootleg.

These versions are completely unreleased.
The acetate is nigh-on forty years old and the sound quality is less than brilliant.
But come on ! You have to hear this.

Tracklist:

1 Heroin
2 Venus in Furs (named as Femme Fatale)
3 Waiting for the Man (Named as Run Run Run )
