The Velvet Underground
Roskilde Festival 02.07.1993

The Velvet Underground are:
John Cale
Lou Reed
Sterling Morrison
Maureen Tucker

Lineage: Sony ECM-929LT => Sony WM-D6C => SB-Live => Cooledit => Flac

1. We're Gonna Have A Real Good Time Together
2. Sweet Jane
3. Femme Fatale
4. Venus In Furs
5. Some Kinda Love
6. All Tomorrow's Parties
7. I'm Sticking With You
8. Beginning To See The Light
9. I Heard Her Call My Name

10. Afterhours
11. Heroin
12. White Light / White Heat
13. Rock 'n Roll
14. I Can't Stand It
15. Waiting For The Man
16. Pale Blue Eyes

The Roskilde Festival isn't the best place to tape. Noisy unconcentrated audience and not the best sound. But if you want to see some of the larger bands sometimes you don't have a choice. The night before this concert I taped Neil Young at the same festival and the first hour was pure chaos: people tried to come both forth and back and with absolutely no space to move some of them used fists to make way. Lucky enough Neil played 2? hours and I really enjoyed the last half.
Anyway, the night of Velvet Underground I moved further back where I could concentrate on both music and taping. The Velvet Underground played at a rather low volume so it's easy to hear the audience on the tape.
Now you've got your warning, I still must say I enjoyed the concert as much as it's possible at a festival surrounded by 50.000 people.

Artwork included.

Enjoy!

This was the first show I taped using Core Sound Binaural Microphones and I didn't realise how sensitive they were. Due to this the recording is slightly distorted here and there - sorry. I never used the Core's again as I shortly after found the type I've been using ever since - btw if one of you have a spare "Sony ECM-121" (I think they came with the WM-D3), please PM me as I sure could use another one.
As far as I know this recording has not been in circulation. I only made copies for a few close friends and I don't think they ever passed it on to anyone else.
Also thanks to Chris (you know who you are) for transferring the tapes to cdr when I didn't have the time to do it myself.

Recording & artwork by ?The Velvet Taper?
Enjoy!

Well the lid of the John Cale-jar is obviously open. Grab what You want
