Arena Night - Chelsea Hotel

Arena Night - Chelsea Hotel

xVid Widescreen (windowboxed)

Arena documentary from 1981 looking at the residents of the infamous Chelsea Hotel in New York. Features Andy Warhol, Quentin Crisp, William S Burroughs, and Nico, amongst others

Quality:

The source material was film so not that good. My BBC4 signal is occasionally a bit patchy so there are 4 or 5 brief glitches but they don't detract from the enjoyment *too* much...

JOHN CALE - BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE

Beautiful Mistake is a real treat for fans of John Cale. Probably never seen
outside of Wales, this movie follows a group of Welsh musicians interacting and
playing in the studio with Cale. The English language version of this film premiered at
the Cardiff International Film Festival in November 2000. However, the one that
appears here is the Welsh language version which was produced for S4C (Channel 4 Wales).
Language is pretty much irrelevant in this film as it mostly consists of
musical performance with very little dialogue inbetween bands.

Cale did the score for the film, playing piano and organ throughout. The studio footage
sees Cale playing with, among others, James Dean Bradfield from the Manic Street Preachers,
Cerys Matthews from Catatonia and Super Furry Animals.

I haven't provided a detailed track list as most of the ones available on the internet refer
to the English language version of the film which had a slightly different soundtrack.

Brian Eno & the Winkies -Derby,UK 13.feb.1974
WARNING - ONLY FAIR AUDIENCE - WARNING
-----------------------------------------------------

A little off track, perhaps - but I thought it might be of interest here because Eno does a cover of "What Goes On". As the warning says, the sound quality is pretty awful, but interesting to hear nonetheless.
