No, $3500.00 was the highest for a Mono Emerson 1st edition with unpeel banana, shrink and white promo label. But I have seen many sell close to that high. You can visit http://www.popsike.com/ and search Velvet Underground. Search by highest price to get an idea. I haven't looked there in a while, so I don't know how far back they go but it has always been a good research page. (server problem right now though) Another thing you want to be sure to do on eBay when selling is offer worldwide shipping, list on all eBay sites in all countries; that sometimes accounts for some of the variance in prices, (the people with $$ have to be able to find your items) plus seller reputation, and of course quality of item. Use plenty of detailed photos, supersize also. There is no Japanese eBay but those buyers know where to search. Myself, I search velvet underground, then click advanced search, then go down to location and switch from ebay.com to worldwide. This gives you all locations instead of searching ebay france, then ebay uk... and so on. Good luck, hope the tips help. Although I wonder; >$3500 seems to be a bit steep. It surely can't be worth that much?
The press kit is fab, btw!

Re: 1969 press kit
Rick,
Many thanks for the link. Although I think I'll hold on to my "Mono Emerson" for a while ...
Best (and happy new year etc to all),
Ralf

Re: 1969 press kit
I'm not sure I'd like my financial details broadcast by someone else... Still, it's good to see Simon got a decent bid for it!alfredovu wrote:Congratulations Simon

Considering that Simon went openly to us asking for help and that he advised us when he started offering it at Ebay (a public aution) I do not feel that I´m broadcasting any financial secret from him. But, Simon, accept my honest apologies if you feel so.arjan wrote:I'm not sure I'd like my financial details broadcast by someone else... I just was happy for someone that I know is a serious VU fan and collector. Should not been easy to say goodbye to such treasure. I am glad to see that someone paid a fair price for such rare-rare item.

Perhaps I sounded too grouchy back there.alfredovu wrote:Considering that Simon went openly to us asking for help and that he advised us when he started offering it at Ebay (a public aution) I do not feel that I´m broadcasting any financial secret from him.

Re: 1969 press kit
Congratulations! Sold for $1,035.00. Can you imagine how much it would have brought with the other missing photos intact? Whew!
Re: 1969 press kit
I was going to post the winning amount, but after it was all over, paid received and feedbacked. I was pretty amazed at the price though.
I'm seriously thinking about selling my Aspen box now. It's complete apart from the subscription form page, so should fetch a good sum.
The Index book stays!
