What makes it satire? I don't know. Maybe satire holds up a distorting mirror to reality, but don't seek any deep meaning in my words.
The article was published just after Lou's death on a New Zealand satirical site which features such gems as "Jetstar passenger furious after missing flight that left on time" and even "New X Factor judges somehow even less famous than previous X Factor judges", so maybe it is satire by context.
