THE VELVET UNDERGROUND - Hamburg, Germany 1993-06-11 [Uncirc'd TKOR recording]

Description
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THE VELVET UNDERGROUND
SPORTS PALACE, HAMBURG, GERMANY
JUNE 11, 1993
MASTER AUDIENCE RECORDING BY THE KING OF ROCK

SONY D3>1ST GEN CASSETTES>STAND ALONE BURNER>TLH>FLAC

It was a whirlwind 24 hours in Germany. Besides this incredible concert highlights included, but were not limited to, a blatantly anti-Semitic experience within minutes of arriving, missing the last train after the show and being stranded in the middle of nowhere, and who could forget being shaken down by Commandos [their uniforms actually said Commando] and having all out DM taken from us, by them, at a deserted train station in Dresden where you could buy 75 different porn titles, but not a newspaper.

OK, the concert is pretty awesome and I am sure it has circulated from different recordings. The Sports Palace is a small hockey arena - we were about 3 or 4 rows up on the side about halfway back, maybe a little more. There is some chatter here and there, but it is a very listenable audience capture, imho. The live sound was a little boomy just due to the room. Hey Mr. Rain was over 13 mins by this point, but by the next show in Prague it was over 16 mins. It had grown with each show up to Prague, then was dialed back a bit for the Paris shows. Coyote is missing - probably due to our failed attempt to make the last train.

Almost every 1993 concert is available and about 6 or 7 video shows...

Available perhaps for some, because I can't see them shared anywhere, I've two shows on mp3, even not FLAC so with the annoying 2 sec or so pause between tracks, only have one video so far...

That would be a GOOD thing, but, unfortunately, they are. We all get to see Lou scolding John, and Sterling just going through the motions.

I often see them during the 1993 tour and the only annoying things were coming from Lou : glasses, singing, "new wave" guitar. But for the music, the only idea behind this FANTASTIC reunion, it was FAR BETTER THAN ANY SOLO STUFF ANY OF THEM HAS DONE FROM 1970 TO PRESENT ! And they didn't play America, alleluia !

Why, I think it's my opinion, I've seen velvet members solo, it wasn't magical at all, sometimes good but that's all.
