Or whether that unopened box will be opened. Whether any of the other VU tapes will be digitised at all, and if so whether they would then be accessible to the public in the library, online or get some kind of physical release.

On the 4 min http://www.npr.org/ interview it says that the recordings will be available to hear at the library, nothing about online or physical release. Maybe this way they get round the licensing issues while still being accessible to the public.

600+ hours of Lou Reed recordings will be accessible at Library, likely in a year's time, for anyone to stroll in and hear.

Laurie Anderson also working with @nypl_lpa on a special "Lou Reed listening room" so people can hear Lou's music REALLY LOUD.

Also: Alice Tully Hall 1/73 (@LouReed's first NYC solo sets) + '78 Take No Prisoners shows (25 hrs worth in total) may see official release.

Also: a book of @LouReed's "early poems" (circa '69-'72, I'm guessing) due fall/winter from good folks at #AnthologyEditions w/Reed Archive

The @nypl_lpa has 300 boxes of @LouReed stuff to process. Great photos on display, incl. theatrical drug-shooting, real-life puppy adoption.

A little more on the announcement from Anthology. Does not seem to include music. Still cool, though.

Starting Fall 2017 / Winter 2018, Anthology Editions will work in tandem with the archive to publish new works of Reed’s personal essays, poems, and photographs.

Was Reed known as a big cheapskate? These are 69¢ cassettes!

On the plus side, at least there's no 3/$1 Certrons.

600 hrs it may be..but Lou took ages to come on stage in the 70s so theres about 150 hrs of just the band warming up
