The Velvet Underground at (maybe) Fillmore Auditorium 1966 DVD
The Velvet Underground at (maybe) Fillmore Auditorium 1966 DVD
OK folks! After sorting out a bunch of issues, here is a VERY short bit of new footage, most likely from the Fillmore Auditorium. Filmed by Ken Kesey's Merry Pranksters and erroneously inserted in a 1989 documentary about the Acid Tests. Almost all of the footage is of the audience, but there are tantalizing glimpses of Moe and Nico/Sterling (probably). Probably for completists only, but any footage is worth having IMO. Enjoy!

Great work identifying this footage, and my gratitude for your efforts in posting it here for us. Having seen the fuller sequence in which this clip occurs, can you verify that the audio is from a different group altogether? It sounds like Grateful Dead to me, which is reasonable given the film's theme but the absence of context leaves me less than certain.

Cool. There's a few seconds of Gerard doing his whip dance.

thanks so much! Have seen no new VU footage since the BTP video. It's a shame that we didn't get an Emerson project for tarot Cards.
