The 2000s psych-garage band Black Lips have fleshed out an unfinished Reed/Cale song, captured during a factory rehearsal.
Black Lips drummer Oakley Munson is credited with writing the song alongside Reed and Cale. Munson has added an original turn around to the songs repetitive vocal loop, breaking from the chords/melody of the turn around original perform by the Velvets.
I think the Black Lips did a great job putting some life in this lost Velvets scrap. Now who’s going to create a studio version of Lou’s So In Love? That’s a masterpiece in waiting!

I like it! Interesting project - good on them..Has a very 'All Tomorrow Parties' / Live 1969 / Cowboy Junkies vibe to it..

Yep. I like it. They've done a good job with that. They should have a crack at Walk Alone.
