"guitar amp" recording
Hi, I'm looking for thoughts on best version of the VU "Guitar Amp" recording from March 15 '69 at Boston Tea Party.
Re: "guitar amp" recording
I like to listen to the "Improved Mp3" someone did back in 2012
Re: "guitar amp" recording
Many times I play along with it. Good fun.

How many versions are there?
I have the LP Drug Hit Sally Inside which is (naturally) incomplete. And then there's the Scorpio 4xCD set which has the complete performance recording.
Is there another? i.e. the rumoured recording of the performance from a member of the audience.

None of the CDs/web versions I've found have been as exciting as the first one I had, which was the Symphony of Sound 2LP version, which despite being incomplete had this roar to it that still knocks me over. I don't have access to either the LP or an analogue to digital converter at the moment, but I wish someone would reproduce this record nicely.

I forgot about that version. I'll have to play it. I wouldn't want to do a rip right at the moment, as I'm waiting for a turntable upgrade in a month or two. Maybe then.DavidH wrote: ↑28 Feb 2021 08:33None of the CDs/web versions I've found have been as exciting as the first one I had, which was the Symphony of Sound 2LP version, which despite being incomplete had this roar to it that still knocks me over. I might be wrong but I think the version on Symphony of Sound 2xLP sounds like it runs fast.

You're probably right. Because the vocals are pretty low in the mix (if you can call it that) I don't remember it bothering me much. In any case, it should be relatively easy to fix it digitally.iaredatsun wrote: ↑28 Feb 2021 12:25I might be wrong but I think the version on Symphony of Sound 2xLP sounds like it runs fast.
