I'd like to know which albums he really had at the front of his collection, rather than the (probably) carefully orchestrated display we see in the photo.
Exactly!!
And out of curiousity: Did Lou have the Plastic People of the Universe - Egon Bondy's Happy Hearts Club Banned? [original LP version with 60p booklet, of course!]

I don’t think he would have this LP before 90s. My feelings from his first meeting with Havel and PPU members (Prague April 1990) were that he was not very familiar with their story and music.

1989 LP by Half Japanese - The Band That Would Be King - 2nd from bottom left - Don Fleming (LR archivist) plays on this album...

Beautiful Lou's alongside Bobby Liebling of Pentagrama band shoot in BTP,hardly recall the band, might be from some old the flyers.
But there are no stars in New York sky, they're all on the ground.
This is the place where she lay her head when she went to bed at night....

Here's the interview [from 2015] with Bobby Liebling [incl.the picture with Lou]
https://pleasekillme.com/genuine-metal- ... pentagram/
What's strange is that in the interview Liebling states "at his [=Lou's] folk’s house in 1973", while under the picture is written "Sep 69"!
Also Lou's look in the picture imho doesn't seem to be from 1973, instead sometime between late VU and early solo

I would say this picture was taken September 20, 1969 at University of Maryland, Lou wearing very same outfit and stage seems pretty similar to that on Connie Radulovitch we know

I agree - I have an uncropped scan of this pic and "Sep 69" is printed on the white border.
