Yeah, that's a disappointment - seems that the only vocal versions survive as acetates. Weird.

Why is Foggy Notion (and some other tracks) listed as 'album version', when it was listed on a earlier track listing as 1969 mix?

I can see what you mean about the vocal on the live Pale Blue Eyes sounding weird. Voice sounds too high.

Anyway, does anyone know why we have two versions of the Closet Mix Beginning to See the Light? From these samples, I can't really hear a difference.

Wow, Pale Blue Eyes sounds ridiculous. Obviously way faster than it was performed. Surely that's not how the final product sounds. How could that get by? If so, that's a major screw up.

Here's a quick speed correction I did. I had to slow it down 3 semitones. That's a lot.

I'm hoping the extra Beginning to See the Light is the version that doesn't fade out and runs to the end of the song.

That sounds a lot better! Yes it would be pretty surprising and annoying if they have screwed this up!

Sure it sounds better, but is it at the correct speed or not?

Glad to hear that, Alfredo. Dunno about the Matrix stuff but the whole batch of samples sounds bloody awful in those mp3s. I wish they would put that sh*t online - it spoils it for everyone. The surprise is gone and then people start to think the whole album sounds as bad as the mp3s do. Plus they had to go and put samples up of the whole 6 CDs, too.

I agree. It's much more fun for everyone, and a better service to the band and label, if there are a couple of key tracks put up in top quality for us to hear, rather than a stack of horrible sounding snippets.
