I've heard that there are links to rips of the singles box around. I mean if you look for them. They're 320kbps mp3s. {edit - I now know that they're also out there in FLAC. thanks to him who alerted me of that}.

I have never heard the volume increase 30 secs into Venus In Furs before. pbthal has just explained to me that this also occurs on the white label promo version, and by implication the first pressing - something that was corrected on the next pressing, I presume. I didn't know that before now.

I can confirm that I recently bought a Mono Torso copy (not a promo) and was very surprised about the increase in volume on that track, I had to play it again when i first heard it as i thought my hi-fi was at fault! I can't remember a discussion / this being mentioned before, seems quite a mistake for such a major release it is very pronounced.
