Chelsea Girls - Japanese reissue
Chelsea Girls - Japanese reissue
Has anyone heard he Japanese reissue that supposedly has removed the tape hiss? does it really have a clear signal? i.e. the intro to the song, Chelsea Girls, which is a hissy mess. If it really is a significant improvement - can anyone kindly share it in lossless format?

I think it would help if you told us which edition you’re referring to, please. Discogs link or year?modboy wrote: ↑27 Jan 2025 00:53 Has anyone heard he Japanese reissue that supposedly has removed the tape hiss? does it really have a clear signal? i.e. the intro to the song, Chelsea Girls, which is a hissy mess. that'd be great. I'd like to know if it really is remastered or remixed to remove tape hiss and improve clarity. Every version I've heard - vinyl and other reissues all are very distorted and hissy

there's nothing on the obi that suggests it's a new master or anything like that, it's just a limited edition mini-LP-type-sleeve thing - probably same source as other releases. UMG don't have the original multi-track tape, so there's not much they can do.

The credits were exactly the same as the earlier CD releases.
